Our client is a leading European group operating in the agro-industry sector in Africa.
Job description:
For this outstanding opportunity we are looking for a General Manager who will have overall responsibility for the management, finance, production and development of our client's activities in Ghana. You will lead a team of 10 expatriates and 1000 employees. The key aspects of this strategic position will include:
- Develop and implement annual budget plans, monitor projects and investments and manage all aspects of the company
- Lead the overal operations of the company, i.e. both the agricultural activities and the processing and packaging facilities, as well as the distribution of our final products on the market
- Represent the best interests of the company in line with budgetary and legal requirements; provide weekly reporting to corporate headquarters
- Represent the company externally with government, statutory/regulatory bodies, banks etc.
Qualifications : Who we are looking for:
You should have at least 15 years experience in the Manufacturing or Agro-Industry sector, ideally in developing countries (Africa would be a plus). Coming from a strong engineering background, you will feel comfortable in a team and will take on a key leadership role in business development. Ideally a good part of your experience will have seen you intimately involved in General or Operations Management, Project Management and/or Business Development. Excellent communication skills are required, both oral and written.

A remuneration package of $120-130 K tax free + bonus and full expat benefits (housing, car, flight tickets...) will be offered to the successful candidate.
