African Capital Markets Investment Awards Shortlist announced

Wednesday, 16 Aug 2017

Johannesburg, South Africa; New York, USA; 16 August 2017: Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment group, today announced that the 11th annual Ai CEO Institutional Investment Summit will once again showcase the best of Africa’s investment success stories through the prestigious Ai Capital Market Index Series Awards. The official shortlist of nominees was released today.

The Ai Capital Market Index Series Awards recognise the achievements of best performing stock exchanges, listed companies, investment banks, research teams, regulators, socially responsible companies, fund managers and institutional investors improving Africa’s capital market investment climate.

Launched in 2007, the Awards are based around the Ai Index Series - known as Africa’s FTSE - which tracks Africa’s leading blue chip stocks representing a market cap of over US $670 billion.

Commenting on the release of the shortlist, Hubert Danso, CEO and Vice Chairman of Africa investor, said, "Africa’s capital markets continue to provide some of the most attractive propositions for investors globally. This is proven in particular by our Ai40 Investor’s Index, which recently broke through the significant 100-point mark and has been on a bull run for the larger part of 2017. We are therefore delighted that these awards are once again showcasing the institutions and CEOs from the Ai Index Series at the forefront of delivering world class returns and improving Africa’s capital markets investment profile."

The Ai CEO Institutional Investment Summit and the Ai Capital Market Index Series Awards will be hosted at the NASDAQ Exchange in Times Square, New York, on the 18th of September.
