Africa investor and World Bank host Private Sector Dialogue at Spring Meetings

Washington DC, USA; 22 April 2012: Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment and communications group, today held a high-level closed door consultation with the World Bank at its headquarters in Washington DC.
Senior officials from the World Bank Group and its affiliates at the International Finance Corporation, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, as well as Central Bank Governors, met with an influential group of private sector institutions assembled by Africa investor to discuss partnerships around the cashless economy in Africa.
The meeting was co-chaired Oby Ezekwesili, Vice President for the World Bank’s Africa Region, and Hubert Danso, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Africa investor. The proceedings of the meeting were off the record and held during the World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC.
The follow-up meeting will take place on October the 11th, 2012, at the Africa Investment Climate Summit in Tokyo (co-hosted by Africa investor and the World Bank Group), which will run alongside the 2012 World Bank Annual Meetings in Tokyo.
